About us
About NamesGala
NamesGala is a collection of name ideas and name meanings for anyone naming a baby, a pet, a team, a business or a character. We group every list by topic and by use, so you can find the right name fast.
Why we started NamesGala
NamesGala started with a simple idea: a name is often the first thing people learn about someone or something, so it deserves a little thought. We gather name ideas, meanings and origins in one place and sort them by purpose, so whether you are naming a newborn, a puppy, a sports team or a new business, you can find options that fit and understand what they mean. Because the right name does more than label something; it tells a story.

How we create content
Written and edited by people
Every article is reviewed and edited by our team before it is published. We may use software tools, including AI writing assistants, for research, drafting and proofreading; they never publish anything on their own.
Original work
Our name lists are put together by our team; names suggested by readers are credited to them.
Checked sources
When we explain a name’s meaning or origin, we check it against established name dictionaries and reference sources.
Kept up to date
We review older articles regularly and update or remove those that no longer help readers.
Corrections and feedback

Who owns NamesGala
